Leeds United U21 extended their unbeaten Premier League 2 streak to three games with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Everton U21 at Thorp Arch.
Leeds, energized by their recent victory over Newcastle, dominated early. Luca Thomas’ corner nearly found the back of the net, and both Charlie Cresswell and Charlie Allen forced excellent saves from Everton keeper George Pickford.
However, it was Everton who struck first, with Katia Kouyate scoring a low strike. Leeds responded quickly, with Allen and Thomas repeatedly threatening the Everton defense.  Allen finally equalized just before halftime with a clinical finish.
The second half saw more Leeds pressure, Thomas proving a constant threat down the left.  Snowdon narrowly missed, and Pickford produced a spectacular save to deny Thomas’ acrobatic volley. James Debayo’s header even struck the woodwork.
In the tense final minutes, Leeds captain Harvey Sutcliffe produced a crucial block to deny Everton, and Ed Jones missed a late chance for the visitors.
